When does the program start, and when does the admissions process begin?
 |
The spring semester begins in March, and the Autumn semester begins in September.
Application forms for the spring semester are handed out from November the year before (from November 9th to the 20th, this year), and received in December.
Application forms for the Autumn semester are handed out from the end of May till early June of the given year, and received in early June.
Successful candidates are announced on the website of the graduate school within a week from application acceptance.

Of course. The graduate school will kindly answer to all of your inquiries. An interview with a professor is also possible through a prior arrangement. The door is always open. I went through a bachelors course unrelated to logistics. Can I still enter the school?
 |
Of course. It would help academically to have studied in related departments such as management, economics, trade, international trading, industrial engineering, statistics, computer engineering and etc. Nevertheless passion to study will be enough for students from non-related departments. The passion is the most important factor, and this is probably the point that is given the biggest importance during the interview. |

How much is the tuition, and do you have scholarship?
 |
In 2009, the tuition was 3.1 million won (562,000 won entrance fee). Full time students are given scholarship, and we also have various other scholarships. |

Do I need a laptop at school, like the MBA?
 |
Most lectures have presentations using laptops. So laptops are very important. However, not owning a laptop should not deter you from your studies. The school owns numerous laptops through support for the specialized university project, and the laptops are leased to graduate school students for a certain period of time. There should be no inconveniences in using them. |

I have a job. Can I attend the school?
 |
Yes, you can. The school is the first graduate school specializing in logistics in Korea. About half the current students have jobs. We have classes day and night to accommodate both office workers and full-time students. Night classes for office workers are from 7pm to 10pm. You are required to earn 24 or more credits within 2 years of enrollment for the Masters degree For the Ph. D degree, you are required to earn 36 or more credits within 3 years of enrollment. If you encounter any difficulties, you may interview professors to seek flexible ways to acquire credits. |

I wish to quit my job and concentrate on my studies. Can I continue to work while studying?
 |
Yes, it is possible. If you wish to concentrate on your studies to achieve your goals, you may utilize the RA system. Being a Research Assistant is a good opportunity to conduct researches and projects with professors and develop various know-hows and techniques. Also full amount of tuition will be provided in scholarship, and you will be given priority for various benefits. If you wish to publish many papers and research results, and work while studying, RA would be a good way to go. If you wish to become an RA, you may say so during the entrance interview. |

What is the biggest strength of the Graduate School of Logistics in Northeast Asia of the University of Incheon?

The Graduate School of Logistics in Northeast Asia of the University of Incheon is the first graduate school specializing in logistics in Korea, and in the world. Though around the world, there are logistics related MBA and Ph.D programs within graduate schools, we are the only independent graduate school to specialize in logistics. The Graduate School of Logistics in Northeast Asia of the University of Incheon started out in the best environment with Incheon International Airport, Songdo international city, and the free economic zone. Since its establishment in 2004, for 2 years in a row, it has played a leading role in educating logistics experts that is among the government supported specialized projects. We are the only logistics related special graduate school in existence, and are creating unique education environment and growth that will befit the words, first in Korea, and first in the world. |

How many students are attending the graduate school?
 |
Usually we accept 25 Masters students and 10 Ph. D students per year. Around 10 students attend required subjects and around 5 students attend elective subjects. |

Do I have to be good at English?
 |
There is no English test when entering the school. But often books in English are used in classes and presentations are made in English. It would be right to reach a level of fluency in English that will enable you to speak with native English speakers and raise questions at international seminars without difficulty. The reason behind establishing the Graduate School of Logistics in Northeast Asia is also to foster international logistics experts, so it would be best to strive in your English studies after entering the school. |

How are the current graduate students made up?
 |
Current make up of graduate students show half of them to be full-time students and half of them to have jobs. We have students ranging from their 20s to their 50s, who have studied various fields in their undergraduate days ranging from humanities to pure science. Jobs we see among students with jobs are diverse as well, ranging from government jobs at the Ministry of Construction and Transportation, Korea Maritime Institute, Incheon Metropolitan City to managers and CEOs of logistics related companies, to public companies such as the Incheon International Airport. |

How is life at the graduate school?
 |
As mentioned above students at the graduate school have diverse backgrounds in their undergraduate studies, age and occupation. This enables them to maintain a strong relationship and in various gatherings and team projects. The curriculum itself is quite academic and demanding. But the sense of achievement after conducting a group project, and the orientation, hiking gatherings, workshops, end of the semester parties are a beautiful and satisfying occasions to make memories that you will not get in other graduate schools. The students' sense of bonding and belonging, and their love and pride for the graduate school have made the Graduate School of Logistics in Northeast Asia to be called the logistics Mafia. Under such atmosphere, students take a serious approach towards the depth academic research on a daily basis. |
